Scott Wyden Kivowitz: So here's the thing, my friends. I have very mixed feelings about AI, about artificial intelligence and on my YouTube channel, I recently did a video, and I wrote a blog article about it, where I actually tricked my friends and family with photos of myself. It was a really good experiment. And it actually proved that a lot of photographers are in some serious jeopardy when it comes to their businesses in the future, depending on the genre of photography they do. There's also a lot [00:01:00] of good AI in the world. I mean, we can use Gemini and ChatGPT and Claude to do a lot of really incredible things for our personal lives, for our businesses, and so on.

And then there's tools like Imagen that can, help edit your photos so fast, just like, just like you would, or help you get culling done really fast. And now Lightroom itself has assisted culling built in. And you have tools like Aperty that do fantastic retouching, and so many more.

There's so many tools that are extremely useful for photographers. While I don't play music professionally anymore, I am sure there's music tools out there that-- I mean, I-- there's definitely AI toolsfor production, for, for generating sound effects, for manipulating sounds, and things like that.

But I am sure there are tools that people love or hate in the music space, just like there are tools that people love or hate in the photography space. And I recently came across a [00:02:00] tool that is an open source music creation tool. You don't have many options. You can write your own lyrics. You can have it generate your lyrics.

But then you can also give it a description of what you want the music to sound like. You can give it the tempo, the pitch, what kind of voice it is, and stuff like that, or if there is no voice. And so I put it to the test and wanted to share, in this episode, one of those two songs. And in the nep- in next episode, I'm gonna share another one.

This song that you're about to hear, I have titled The Lenses and Lyrics Song. Boring title. But what I did is I actually s- went into Gemini, and I said, "Gemini, I want to write a song that is, about my podcast, Lenses & Lyrics. Write the lyrics for me". And then it wrote the lyrics, and then I took that and I said, "Okay, now generate a description about the song."

I took the description, went [00:03:00] into this other tool that I installed locally and set up and all that kind of stuff, and I gave it the description, I gave it the lyrics. I let it choose the tempo, I let it choose the pitch and all that kind of stuff, but I let it roll, and that's what the song you're about to hear is.

So for the next four minutes or so, the song was 100% AI-generated. Now, I wanna hear from you, okay? When you're done listening to this, I don't want to hear complaining, right? I'm sure, again, you're gonna have a love-hate relationship with it. Maybe it's a hate-hate relationship with it. Maybe you dig it.

But I want you, if you're listening on Spotify, add a comment with your thoughts about how this song came out, right? Again, this is not me recording, singing anything. It's just me prompting and giving it lyrics. So if you're on Spotify, if you're on YouTube, add a comment with your thoughts on it. If you're on Apple Podcasts, of course, there's no comment feature right now on Apple Podcasts, but [00:04:00] if you're on a player that offers commenting, please comment with your thoughts on this song and this process.

I'm so curious what you think. As somebody who likes photography and likes music, what are your thoughts? If you are listening to Apple Podcasts, you can either head over to YouTube, find it on my YouTube channel, that link is in the show notes, or you could go to my membership, and there's The Dojo in there that you can join for free.

So I'd love to see you there as well. check it out, add your comments wherever you can. I am so curious what you think

AI Song: [00:05:00] We wait for the noise of the street to pass. Adjust the focus until the edges are sharp. The frame holds the room like a quiet harp. Every shutter click is a comma paid. We are just capturing the spirit of the age. Lenses & Lyrics, the sight, the sound. Looking for the beauty that is waiting to be found.

Through the viewfinder and between the lines. Everything's clearer once the light aligns.

A photograph is a poem without a voice. Selecting the [00:06:00] angle is a narrative choice. Grain in the film or a metaphor in the verse. We rehearse the story. Preserving the fleeting essence of you. The microphone stays open for the thoughts we keep. Some ideas are shallow, while others are deep. It is more than just a picture or a simple rhyme.

It is a way of freezing a moment in time.

A moment in time.[00:07:00]

Fade the levels down to black.

The most vivid things are the ones that are [00:08:00] heard.
